3DPrintDecoded publishes practical 3D-printing guidance built around evidence: observe the print, isolate the likely cause, and test the next change. A failed print is data, not a disaster, when it tells us which explanation no longer holds.

How we research and test claims

We begin with the mechanism behind a visible symptom, then establish a baseline before changing one relevant variable. Small proof prints make it easier to see whether temperature, flow, cooling, motion, material, or geometry actually caused the change; our How We Test page explains that working method in more detail.

A result becomes guidance only when the observation and conditions are clear enough for another maker to check. If a test fails, we keep the useful lesson: it narrows the field and prevents a confident-sounding guess from becoming a recommendation.

How content is reviewed and by whom

Guides are written and reviewed by Tomas Rieger, the additive manufacturing engineer and editor behind 3DPrintDecoded. The reviewed by line on an article identifies that editorial check and connects the advice to a named person rather than an anonymous content process.

Review asks a simple question: does the stated cause match the test, the print symptom, and the limits of the claim? When it does not, the language is narrowed, the test is repeated, or the recommendation is removed.

Updates and corrections

Every guide uses a last updated date because printer firmware, slicers, materials, and evidence can change. That date logs when the page was last checked or materially revised; it is not a promise that every printer will behave identically.

We correct pages when a source changes, a result no longer reproduces, or readers provide stronger evidence. Send the page URL, the printer and material details, and the observed result through our contact page; a correction is handled like a calibration test—check the evidence, isolate the variable, then update the record.

Independence and affiliate disclosure

Our editorial conclusions are not for sale, and a product, manufacturer, or advertiser does not get to approve a recommendation before publication. When numbers depend on a specific printer, filament, nozzle, or slicer profile, we name those conditions instead of presenting a local result as a universal setting.
